Here's a summary of the FOAM Officer's meeting held Tuesday April 10 at Howard's house:

We have 62 paid members.

Treasury = $2106.67

Dave Justice has just put out the new newsletter. It was suggested that a reminder to submit material should be sent out to all FOAM members within a week of each issue.

Jim is still waiting for news about FOAM's participation in the DC101 Chili Cookoff. He received only a form email saying that the first 80 who completed the registration would get in. Hopefully he will receive a definite answer about our status within a week, at which point he will let us know. (edited : see Jim's emails for more info)

It was decided that we should use Les' chili recipe. We also get 4 free tickets, and first priority should go to FOAM members who are participating, ie, Les, Jim, Edgar, and one more. There are other events going on that day as well, but it was decided that the FOAM banner and tent will be used for the Chili Cookoff.

May 5th is National Homebrew Day. There will be a big brewing event at Maryland Homebrew in Columbia, in the parking lot. Edgar also said he was going to have a few guests over for a homebrewing demonstration, and will probably start around 2 PM. That evening there will also be a Guess That Beer event at Edgar's. It was suggested that in honor of the day, homebrews could be included and participants would be asked to Guess That Style.

On the 3rd week in August is the 20th anniversary Mashout.

The next officer's meeting will be on MONDAY May 14th at Edgars house in Middletown.

We are also beginning to plan a Beer-Crawl in Northern Virginia, probably on June 9th.
